I’ve been keen to test the Olympus E-330 digital camera to see if the Live Preview function offered advantages for infrared photography.
Well a pre-production E-330 finally arrived and I took it out to do some infrared testing. The live preview is a nice feature for general photography, as it helps with working at low levels, etc. However put a Hoya R72 IR filter on the lens and it does not work, so it is no help at all.
That said, the E-330 is capable of some lovely IR photography, as the example below shows. The full details are in the full Olympus E-330 Digital Camera IR Performance review on the DIMi site.
